And Yet..... Another Upgrade!

We upped the anti again tonight by purchasing a new 40" 1080p High Def LCD monitor last night....... with it's insane resolution, the image quality on this baby is unbelieveable and makes the 30" apple display look like yesterday's technology! While we'll continue to do our normal wedding reception slideshows with an Apple display, clients will now have the option to go big if they want to with the amazing 40" high definition slideshow at their wedding if they wish. Trust me when I say your wedding will be talked about for weeks with amazing 17 megapixel images going across a Sony LCD!!!

If anyone is interested in doing this for their upcoming wedding, feel free to contact us!

Congratulations, Clarence & Amy!

In two of the hottest days all summer, I somehow survived two back to back weddings! I hate to jinx myself for the next weekend, but I would honestly have to say that yesterday was probably the hottest it's ever been while shooting a wedding..... not a pretty sight for those of us in suits in 100 degree weather with humidity, but I suppose it's one of those things we'll all look back and laugh at..... (not right away though! :)

Another beautiful ceremony that took place in the Yaddo Gardens of Saratoga Springs, however this time to celebrate the wedding of Clarence and Amy. We ended up leaving the gardens a few minutes earlier than we wanted to due to the intense heat for everyone, and 10 minutes later it started to downpour with thunder and lighting, so I think we got extremely lucky! (I was already soaked enough, trust me).

Anyway, it was an awesome wedding, with a fun bunch, and we later headed to the Saratoga Elks club, where the reception was held. As usual, we have hundreds and hundreds of photos from the entire event, and will be working to get them done and uploaded for online viewing & ordering as quickly as possible (by the way, the wedding from Friday night (Ed & Sara) will be done today - that's 48 hours!). For those that would like to pre-register their emails to receive notification of when images go live for the Clarence and Amy wedding, you can do so at the link below!

Congrats again to Clarence & Amy!

P.S. We'll be shooting 3 back to back weddings next weekend, so be sure to check back for lots more samples and events...... we are just warming up! (no pun intended)

Congratulations, Ed & Sara!!

Shooting a wedding in the 90 degree heat is never something to look forward to, however despite the intense heat, we had a great time photographing the wedding of Ed & Sara! The bride and groom are actually from Rhode Island, however came back to Saratoga to have an amazing wedding at the Hall of Springs (and Yaddo). Sara was really shy in the beginning, but after a few shots, she came completely out of her shell, which was awesome!

We have literally hundreds of incredible shots from the day, and will hope to have everything uploaded and available for online viewing & ordering. For those interested, you can pre-register you email below to receive automatic notification of when images go live:

Congrats again to Ed & Sara - Have a great time on your honeymoon and talk to you when you get back!

P.S. I'm headed back to bed and will be up and ready to do it all over again - check back later for more!

21 Megapixels - Upping the Standards Once Again!

Having the biggest, baddest, and best for our clients has pretty much been the expectation and standard for us since day one (although we couldn't always afford to do so in the very beginning). Aside from the fact that I like new toys every now and then, we continue to invest thousands of dollars each year to ensure we remain at the top of the industry in technology and the very best quality equipment for our customers, brides & grooms!

4 Years ago, we purchased the Canon 1Ds Mark II due to it's incredible 17 megapixels and amazing image quality..... this has been our main camera for most events, and an amazing piece of equipment that at $8,000 not many are shooting with these days. Much to my excitement - After 4 years, Canon announced this week it's successor as the all new 21.1 Megapixel Canon 1Ds Mark III! While it still may be a couple months before it's available, I'm extremely excited and ready to up our standards once again with the very best camera that money can buy. Considering there are wedding photographers out there still shooting with 6 or 8 megapixels, we hope our current and future clients will appreciate the quality images and new photographic limits & abilities this camera will provide!

Will your wedding photographer be shooting with 21 megapixels? :)

ASI Systems Testimonial Shoot

Another 6 hour trip today, and found myself back in Manhattan on another shoot....this time working with Rob from ASI Systems who is being featured in an upcoming business article. New York City is without a doubt one of the most amazing places on earth, however I was reminded today of how much I would hate to live there (no offense to those that do).... it seems like the driving, the parking, and pretty much everything just becomes so stressful and tires you out quickly in my opinion. I always enjoy our trips when we go on various shoots to different places, but I was happy to get home this afternoon and take a nap!

Today's shoot with the mainframe computers in the background was extremely challening as they were protected with glass from every direction, not leaving many options for lighting or different angles, etc..... to avoid reflections, I had to pretty much light from the side, and shoot our subject from behind the glass, which was tough! Here's a quick sample from the shoot.

Ok.... back to work here - 2 upcoming weddings this weekend, so be sure to check back for some samples!

Engagements w/ Matt & Veronica!

Let me start by saying I hope everyone is in the mood for flowers today.... lots of em! We finished up the last shoot of our 3 day shooting marathon today with an engagement session with Matt & Veronica, who are another one of our upcoming 2008 wedding couples. These two are always a lot of fun to hang out with, and think we got some great shots today.... yet another wedding that we are sure to look forward to :)

These past 3 days have defintely been "go, go, go" for us, so I'm looking forward to putting my feet up tonight and sleeping in a bit tomorrow (I'm allowed to do that every now and then, right?) As we are heading into an even busier time of the wedding season, I'm doing my best to keep up with things...... we will be shooting an amazing 5 more weddings over the next 2 weeks if you can believe that, so I definitely am trying to brace myself for the craziness that's about to hit!

We are hoping to have these past two weddings as well as all the engagement photo sessions completed over the next few days and will be working around the clock to get things done!

Engagements with Zach & Cate!

This morning, we had the chance to meet with Zach & Cate for the very first time to discuss their upcoming 2008 wedding, as well as do a few engagement photos in the studio. (They are from North Carolina, and were up for the week). Now that we are doing more destination-type weddings and offering packages nationwide, we don't always get the chance to meet with the bride and groom until right before the wedding..... it was great to have the opportunity to meet them today and look forward to their upcoming wedding next year. Here's a quick sample shot from our session!

Thanks again guys, and hope you have a safe trip back home!

Shayne Lavoie - In Loving Memory

There are times in life when you realize just how short it is, and after hearing of an extremely unfortunate incident, today is one of those times. While shooting the wedding of Lee & Jackie last weekend, I had the opportunity to meet the DJ, Shayne, who was also the fiance of the Bride's sister. While I hadn't met Shayne before, I had the opportunity to talk to him quite a bit that evening and recognized how friendly and what a great guy he was.... in fact, he was the last person I spoke with as we left the event that evening as we said goodbye.

I can't tell you how disheartening it was to hear that the very next day Shayne was invovled in a motorcycle accident, where he was killed instantly at the scene...... while I didn't know Shayne that well, just talking to him and working with him the day before his death has really hit home for me and we'd like to express our deep and sincere condolences to the family. We are still going through photos from this event, however will be donating any and all photos of Shayne to the family.

Again, a very sad and tragic event.... I'm positive that Shayne will be missed by hundreds - above is a photo I found of him that I wanted to share - I'm hoping we'll have a few more as we continue to look through things. For anyone interested, you can see the news article below:

Engagements with Kristin & Stephen!

After last night's wedding, 4 hours of sleep, and over 6 hours of driving today, I'm clearly running on pure adrenaline......and still can't sleep as you can see! (I was pretty cranky today according to my wife :) Despite my complaining, we had an awesome day today meeting Stephen & Kristin for the first time and shooting their engagement photos for their upcoming 2008 wedding. While I'm sure it's easy for them to take for granted a view they see nearly everyday, not every couple has the opportunity to have the New York City skyline in their engagement photos, and this made the shoot extra special I think - I'm sure many would give anything to have such an opportunity.

Kristin & Stephen make a great couple, and were both extremely easy to work with.... Stephen hammered me with questions, and by the time we were done shooting, I could barely remember my own name... (I'm kidding - actually it was great to see a future groom taking so much interest in what we do... not something we get a ton of as I'm sure you can imagine). On a serious note, I can tell this is going to be a fun wedding and certainly look forward to counting down the days with them.

Thanks to Stephen & Kristin for inviting us down to their hometown, and really enjoyed working with you.... We'll be going through all the photos this week and will hope to have things ready for viewing within a week or so!

Tomorrow's another full line up of shoots and meetings, so I'm officially off to bed!

P.S. While shooting, we could see heavy smoke over the Ground Zero area and where the towers once stood..... it was sad to come home and find out on CNN that what we were looking at was a fire that killed two firemen.

Congratulations, Bob & Jennifer!!!

At the beginning of a 3 day shooting marathon weekend (at least that's what it seems like to me), we had phenomenal day and time yesterday celibrating/shooting the wedding of Bob & Jennifer! The couple had an amazing wedding in the gardens of the Yaddo in Saratogo, followed by a beautiful reception at Saratoga National..... overall, a really fun day with TONS of incredible photos from the entire day! We are still loading photos into the computer as we speak, but above are just a few of my favorite shots, I thought I would share.

For those interested, we will hope to have this entire event completed and available for online viewing & ordering within a 2-3 weeks. You may pre-register your email at the link below to receive automatic notification of when images go live.

We'd like to sincerely thank not only Bob and Jennifer, but their friends and family as well for taking such good care of us and being so easy to work with...... I wish all weddings went like this one!

P.S. On that note..... it's time for some coffee to wake up, and then am off to Jersey to shoot engagement photos with Kristin & Stephen today.... check back later or tomorrow for updates (plus more coming tomorrow!)

Congratulations, Lee & Jackie!!

Yesterday was a beautiful day, and we put it to good use by photographing and celebrating the wedding of Lee and Jackie. I can imagine it's pretty challenging to arrange a wedding when you live out of town, however they did a fantastic job and the wedding ended up being a blast! ("Mystery" was hilarious and was without a doubt, the life of the party... the show is awesome and will have a whole new meaning now - haha!)

We'd like to thank Lee and Jackie as well as their family for allowing us to take part in this event, and hope you have an incredible honeymoon together (they were flying out this morning at 6am, yikes!) You make an amazing couple, and wish you a lifetime of happiness & marriage together! We are hoping to have all the photos from last night's event uploaded shortly (usually a week or two), and for those interested, you can pre-register your email at the link below to receive automatic notification of when images go live (the password is the couples last name - all lowercase).

Congrats again, to Jackie & Lee!

Congratulations, Matt & Maegen!!

Yesterday was a scortcher with the heat, yet we still managed to have a blast photographing the wedding of Matt & Maegen, after much anticipation of the day that seemed like it would never come! The wedding was held on the beautiful Catskill Point, which has a great view of the Hudson River in the background, making for a perfect scene. Luckily, there was a nice breeze to keep us cooled off.... the sun was so hot - luckily I was wearing all black to absorb even more of the sun (I'm going to have to start dressing like Don Johnson!)

Matt and Maegen make such a great couple, and while both are still quite young, I know they will have an amazing marriage together. We have hundreds of photos that we'll be going through this week, however here are a few of my favorites above. For those interested, you can pre-register your email to receive notification of when images go live for this event... simply click the link below. (image categories will remain password protected until all images are finished and ready to show, however the password to get into the main part of the event until then is the couple's last name in lowercase)

Thanks again to Maegen & Matt, and hope you guys have a blast on your honeymoon together!

P.S. Of all the weddings I've been to, I have never seen a groom smash the cake in HIS OWN FACE..... until last night that is. Thanks for keeping things fresh and exciting for me, Matt!

More Sticky Fingers!

Once again, I'm a bit behind on my blog posts and am trying to catch up on things.... As the busiest time of year is now here for us with multiple weddings per weekend (we have some as many as 3 in a row coming up), we've really be working hard to get our workflow down so that we can crank through entire weddings within a week or less, which is pretty amazing I think! (Believe it or not, we completed the Tom and Jenny wedding today that was just shot on Saturday!!) Needless to say, I haven't had time to do much else as of late.

I did however, have the opportunity to work with good friends John and Donna from Sticky Fingers Apples again this week to add a few product shots to their website. Since the updated product shots and a few other things John and Donna are doing, their business has began to take off in a big way, which is really great to see happen to such good people (good things happen to good people). While I do like to give plugs to people, I'm not just saying this.... their products & candy apples are so amazing.... you know the stuff is good when you start accepting them as partial payment!

I can't express enough how much I recommend them and you have to try some of their apples... you will forever crave them once you do! Here's a link to their site if interested: http://www.stickyfingersapples.com/

P.S. Be sure to check back for samples of the Maegen and Matt wedding we are shooting this weekend!
